SYTYCD Thursday #3

Welcome to another edition of SYTYCD Thursdays!! I hope you're enjoying it as much as I am!

Now onto the dances!

Lovin' Sasha and Alexander's Dance! The piano hands were kinda weird, but the dancing was superb! She's a fantastic dancer!

And wow about the kiss with Melanie and Marko! Wasn't crazy about the dance they had to do(don't really care for hip hop), but they did it well!

I thought the zombie dance was kinda cool-I thought the judges were too critical on the DANCERS, when they were just dancing to what they were given. Sonya Tayeh is a weirdo: ANYONE should expect a strange dance and soundtrack outta her!

Ryan and Ricky-LOVED this dance SO much!!!! LOVED them using the ribbon as a prop...wow! Just GREAT dance.

I recently saw these in a store, and thought they were TOO CUTE! After a quick coat of Rustoleum's Heirloom White, they were looking absolutely adorable. I especially love their little wire feet!

Beach Wall Art

 Monday, Monday! Mondays are always my catching-up-on-housework day. BOO. Luckily, my Husband took tomorrow off so we can all go to Six Flags! So lookin' forward to that. 

 I had to repaint the bathroom this weekend, because NO ONE told me that you're not supposed to use flat paint in the bathroom! So if you DIDN'T know that-there ya go! It peels off. So I picked up the same color but in Semi Gloss and spent a good portion of Saturday painting.

 After I finished, I realized that I needed some wall art. So after throwing around a few ideas in my head, I thought this up!

Super simple....you just take a Dollar Tree picture frame

And some shells, also found at the Dollar Tree. Hot glue a shell to the glass, and there ya go! Totally cute Bathroom Wall Art!

(See that super cute faux wainscoting going on down there? One of my first projects in our house!)

Organize it!

These past couple of days have been hectic! Between making arrangements for my grandmother's funeral, to dog sitting, to running around doing gymnastics makeups...yeah. 

 But I finally got around to organizing the stuff under the sink! It was a disaster area....I'm NOT lying.

 Look!

(His is a little less messy than mine, but not by much!)

So let's get this thing started!

 First things first-

Pull out one of these and wipe your face....when I was going to review my shots on my camera, I had oil on my camera screen-NOT cute.

NOW. Back on topic.

Dump EVERYTHING on the floor.

  

Proceed to clean out the cobwebs that have formed under your sink because the only time you open the doors is to quickly throw an item into it.

 I got these nifty little baskets at Walmart for 1.74 each. Super cute, and does the job. See?

Looks so much better! Although there's one lingering cobweb that was being a beast, but I finally got it off after the pic.

Don't look up though....the countertop isn't looking so hot.

 But could I really end this entry with a pic like that?! No. No, I couldn't. So I won't.

Uh huh. That's right. Uh huh. I cleaned it. 

Uhm, wait. Now the mirror needs cleaning. DANGIT! Never ending.

SYTYCD Thursday #2

 Ok, so there was some AMAZING dances last night!

Here are some that I like-

Lovin' this dance with Ryan and Ricky, even though it's slightly risque, but it's impeccably choreographed. Just LOOOVVVVE Mandy Moore!

Stacey Tookie number with Caitlynn and Mitchell was beautiful as well!

 I am amazed at just how many contemporary dancers there are this season! It is my all time favorite style of dance...I love how beautiful, graceful and STRONG contemporary is! It takes serious strength to be a contemporary dancer.

And of course I LOOOOVVVEEE my girl Melanie, this is probably my favorite routine of the night, and look! It's not a contemporary piece! hah!

A Couple Things

 Hey friends! Hope you all are staying cool on this FIRST DAY OF SUMMER! Today's forecast in the desert is 104! Can you IMAGINE?! Well, some of you can.

 So a few things....one, thank you all so much to those who commented on the passing of my Grandmother. She had a very difficult life, especially for the past four decades; but I know that God is a merciful, redeeming God who has awarded her a special crown in heaven. 

Psalm 37:11 says "But the meek shall inherit the land and delight themselves in abundant peace."

 This is one of His promises, and in my time of grief I hold this verse and Matthew 5:5 close to my heart.

 Two, I can't believe I'm getting close to 500 followers! That is so awesome! I plan to do something super speeeeshul when I reach 500 so keep your eyes peeled!

And lastly, I'm thinking about doing a few giveaways, preferably from folks who have an online shop! This would bring more advertisement to your shop and blog, and would just be awesome all around! So please email me if you're interested and willing to do a giveaway!

Craft Fail

Have you ever had a craft fail? Something that you thought,"OOOH, this will be AWESOME!" only when you're finished, it's not so awesome at all?

 Yeah, that was my daughter's flip flops this week. I had this bright idea to dress up some flip flops I found for I think 1.99 at a thrift store in Ventura, CA. 

I got some rhinestones, E6000 glue and went to work. I did NOT like the results!

So after throwing a REAL thinking cap on, I came up with this.

 MUUUCCCCHHHH better. And so cute. I used modge podge and then sealed the glitter with an spray acrylic gloss, so we won't have glitter shooting everywhere when she walks.

 On another note, please lift me up in prayer; I found out my Grandmother went to be with the Lord this morning. While I am rejoicing that she's in our Savior's presence and pain-free, I am still grieving.

SYTYCD Thursday #1

WOOOOHOOOOO! It's the FIRST official SYTYCD Party! I know that a LOT of you watch SYTYCD on DVR, and that's okay! Just come back here when you catch up, and participate!

Last night was filled with some awesome dances! My favorites were these:

This was a beautiful piece choreographed by Travis Wall!

 And this one has my favorite, Melanie, in it! Another beautiful number by Travis Wall! Although I wasn't crazy about the body makeup, lol

 I'm beginning to think Travis has totally taken over as my favorite choreographer; It's really between him and Wade Robson. I think Wade is AMAZING, but I also love that Travis came from the show and has grown leaps and bounds, becoming an AWESOME choreographer!

I personally think Iveta is going home....I found it kind of weird that the first voting dance she did was one that she was completely familiar with. Hmmm...

Transformed Fan

 Remember how I was THISCLOSE to finishing the girls room? Yeah....scratch that. So let's just pretend that I never mentioned the girls room. Sounds about right!

Let's talk ceiling fans! When we bought this house, every room had a ceiling fan. An ugly, hideous ceiling fan; but a ceiling fan, nonetheless. I remember seeing a revamped ceiling fan awhile back, and thought,"This'll be perfect for the uglies on our ceiling!" 

 So I took off the blades, painted THOSE, masked off the ceiling and spray painted the ceiling fan body with Oil Rubbed Bronze!

Much better, right?!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE how they look now, and I'll be doing this in every room!

Hoo Are You?

Hi friends!

 I'm going to start participating in the "Hoo Are You?" Tuesdays over at Night Owl Crafting! So excited! 

 Let's get started!

1. What is you favorite summertime snack?

 I would have to say Icecream! I absolutely LOVE icecream. Although I LOVE icecream year round, so...

2. Do you tan at all? (tanning bed, outside, spray, etc)

I used to go tanning in tanning beds, but then I started getting paranoid about skin cancer so I stopped! However, I have an olive complexion so any time I'm out in the sun, I get darker. It's extremely rare that I burn.

3. What is your favorite activity to do outside?

 I LOVE bike riding! My Husband and I have beach cruisers with baby seats on the back, and our boys have their bmx type bikes so we love cruising together!

4. Do you recycle?

 It's funny, before we bought our first house we only recycled cans for the cash. Now that we live here, they gave us a regular waste bin, a recycle bin and a green waste bin. So we throw everything recyclable except for cans in the recycle bin. 

5. How hot is it where you live today?

It is going to be 97. Right now, it's 89. In July, it'll be 108. That's the joys of the Mojave Desert!

HAPPY TUESDAY!

So Happy It's FRIDAY!

 I don't know about you, but I LOVE Fridays! It's the end of the week, my Honey is close to being home with us for the weekend and we get to DO stuff! Whether it's just relax, go out of town, work on the house, barbecue, and then of course church....it's great fun! But often too short. Ya feel me?

 So, a couple things. One, LOVED SYTYCD tonight! My favorite girls so far are Melanie and Ryan! What amazing dancers! But then again, EVERY.SINGLE.DANCER.IS.AMAZING! I can't believe the talent this year....the choreography is gonna be impeccable!

 Two, sorry I haven't been able to reveal the sweet girls room! Everytime I want to put the finishing touches on the room, our 22 month old is sleeping in it! Sheesh :) Hopefully this weekend I can get it all finished and filed onto my blog!

 And last, but NOT least, I want to share my mirror revamp with you guys! The before picture was taken at our old house, which was a rental. I wasn't able to do anything with the mantle and fireplace, so don't even ask. LOL

 I scored the mirror at a thrift store for $17.99 I don't know the exact measurement, but from this pic you can get an idea of its size; it's NOT small, and it's HEAVY!

After dismantling it, picking up some cute molding strips and corner blocks, using liquid nails and clamps, my sweet mirror got a facelift! 

And I LOVE IT NOW! 

It's right above our bed. And BOY, do I trust my husband and his anchors, because if it falls, we're goners!

SYTYCD Thursdays!

 Ok, while I was watching So You Think You Can Dance last night, I remembered how many bloggers like the show, and thought, let's party together!

 So! Every THURSDAY starting next week, I will have a SYTYCD Party @ I Heart My Glue Gun! We'll discuss the dances from the night before, what we liked, what we didn't like, WHO we like, WHO we don't like....everything SYTYCD! And then, we can share our disappointment/excitement about who went home! Every Thursday at 5pm or so, I will post the party!

What a nice birthday!

Thank you for all the birthday wishes, friends! I had a delightful birthday, and got some really cool gifts!

 I got the TOMs I had been wanting from my "baby" sister! 

 I also got this FABULOUS new diaper bag, which was much needed since I still have TWO babies in diapers!

 I opened a few more gifts, we had an amazing dinner, and carrot cake for dessert! Such a great day.

 I'm still putting the finishing touches on the girls room, along with 3784667845 other projects I got going on. Here's a sneak peek of one of the walls in the room-

Happy Birthday To Meeeee!

Today, I'm 29 years old. I can't even believe it. I used to think it was so cliche when people would say,"Time flies by so fast!" But dangit, it's true!

 It seems like just yesterday, I was 23 and enjoying it.........

 Oh well! This day's about me! And I like that :)

Saturday, my parents took our family to my FAVORITE restaurant, Claim Jumper. And I had my FAVORITE dessert, the Lemon Brulee! NOM NOM NOM. We had such a good time!

Today, we worked our buns off in the girls room and it is thisclose to being finished! THISCLOSE! I can not WAIT until I can share the finished room here! 

So keep an eye out, you won't want to miss the amazing transformation!

 I'm also thinking of starting a weekly linky party soon, I came up with the COOLEST name for it EVER! 

So stay tuned for that too!

Dyed kicks

 I got this MARVELOUS idea from Sweet Verbena, who does an AMAZING tutorial along with the idea! However, I like to play so I thought I'd give it a whirl even though I think my version is kinda crappy. Oh well! It happens right?!

 So I bought these sweet little things at Target, because dumb ole Walmart had my size, but they were all dirty and GROSS! So $9.00 later, I had these plain Janes.

I bought RIT from Walmart for $1.66

 And Prepared it.

 Wet my shoes, threw them in...and then left them in TOO long! 

They were a deep yellow color. And not cute. So after some trial and error with a spray bottle filled with bleach, I ended up with This!

  I like them. I obviously don't know how to use fabric dye, and I'm annoyed by it. But it's done, and they're cute shoes to throw on and run out of the house with!

Oh yeah, and THREE more days until my birthday! *does dance*
